Our Current project is a 2000 Chevy Silverado 5.3. We installed an STS turbo system at first. We decided to go with the base kit to see how much we could get out of it. With the base kit on 5lbs of boost and a Nelson Performance tune, FLP trans Eaton Posi and a 2500 stall. We were able to get 350hp to the wheels at the dyno. This was with a stock 5.3. We then upped the boost to 8lbs and made 400hp. We then built and installed an intercooler system, 30lb injectors and upped the boost to 10lbs. In 90+ degree temps and 80+ percent humidity we were only able to 403hp but our torque went from 425 to 479. In cooler temps those numbers will go up.
Currently we have started tuning with HPtune, added 160 degree thermostat, electric fans and a Snow Performance Methanol system. We are in the process of getting the tuning straight and as soon as we do we will have more dyno number for you.
Our best track times so far with the current mods are 7.91 in the 1/8 mile at 87mph and 12.96 in the 1/4 mile at 105mph.
We will continue to update our progress and add new projects in the future. I can tell you the next project will be a 02 Z-28 with the STS kit on it. When we get started we will show you our progress.
